His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received Türkiye's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, at his office in Lusail Palace on Sunday during the minister's official visit to Qatar.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Turkish foreign minister extended his heartfelt condolences to His Highness the Amir on the passing of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. His Highness expressed his appreciation for the minister's sincere gesture and condolences.
The discussions focused on the strong strategic partnership between Qatar and Türkiye, with both sides reviewing avenues for further cooperation. They also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, particularly those affecting the region, and discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts and close coordination aimed at easing tensions while reinforcing regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi.
Separately, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani also held talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Sunday.
The two ministers reviewed bilateral relations and explored opportunities to further strengthen cooperation across areas of mutual interest. They also discussed the latest regional developments, with particular emphasis on ongoing diplomatic initiatives and joint efforts to promote de-escalation, security, and stability.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored the importance of all parties remaining committed to dialogue and diplomacy. He stressed the need to implement the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, including provisions that ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, as a key step toward safeguarding regional security, preserving recent progress, and supporting long-term stability.
He also reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering support for all initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and achieving a comprehensive agreement that would pave the way for lasting peace and stability across the region.
