Ambassador Mohamed Setri reaffirmed the longstanding fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Qatar, describing the partnership as one strengthened over decades through the close ties between King Mohammed VI and Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,, and by the enduring friendship between the peoples of both countries.

He made the remarks during a gala dinner hosted on Sunday at the Ritz-Carlton Doha to mark the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors.

The celebration was attended by HE Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change; HE Ibrahim bin Ali bin Isa Al-Hassan Al-Muhannadi, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs; HE Ambassador Ibrahim Yousif Abdullah Fakhro, Director of the Protocol Department; HE Ambassador Nayef Abdullah Al-Siddiqi Al-Emadi, Director of the Arab Affairs Department; HE Ambassador Ali Ibrahim Ahmed, Ambassador of the State of Eritrea and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, along with ambassadors, defence attachés, dignitaries, distinguished guests, and members of the Moroccan community.

Ambassador Setri said Morocco-Qatar relations continue to expand through regular high-level exchanges and growing cooperation in investment, tourism, education, the judiciary, economic development, and other sectors, supported by numerous agreements and joint initiatives.

He highlighted the spirit of solidarity between the two countries, recalling that following the Iranian attacks on Qatar, His Majesty King Mohammed VI promptly conveyed Morocco's unwavering support to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and condemned any aggression threatening Qatar's security and stability. He also expressed appreciation for Qatar's steadfast support for Morocco's territorial integrity.

Marking Throne Day, Ambassador Setri said the occasion enables Moroccans to renew their loyalty to His Majesty the King while celebrating the Kingdom's achievements. He cited strong GDP growth, improved macroeconomic indicators, rising foreign direct investment, Morocco's contribution to global food security through phosphate exports, continued leadership in Africa's automotive industry, rapid aviation export growth, record tourism, and employment generated by major infrastructure projects and preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

He also highlighted Morocco's commitment to Africa through the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline Project involving 13 countries and the Atlantic Initiative to enhance economic opportunities for Sahel nations.

Ambassador Setri said Morocco's foreign policy, guided by the Royal Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is founded on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, rejection of separatism and terrorism, peaceful conflict resolution, and stronger international partnerships.

Concluding, he paid tribute to the late Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, recalling His Majesty King Mohammed VI's appreciation of the late leader's friendship and support for Morocco, and offered prayers for his eternal peace and for the continued success of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

A short documentary showcasing Morocco's ongoing development was screened during the celebration. Guests were also treated to an extensive selection of traditional Moroccan cuisine, the country's famous mint tea, and an array of authentic delicacies.
