Qatar: Minister of State for Energy Affairs Visits Pakistan Embassy to Express Condolence After Barzan Tragedy

DOHA, Qatar – 24 June 2026

Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, visited the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Doha to express condolences following the death of a Pakistani national in the recent incident at the Barzan Gas Supply Facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City.

During the visit, Minister Al-Kaabi met with Ambassador Muhammad Aamer and conveyed his personal condolences, as well as those of the State of Qatar’s energy sector, to the Ambassador, the Government, and the people of Pakistan.

Expressing solidarity with Pakistan, Minister Al-Kaabi stated that the loss of innocent lives is a tragedy that affects all communities. He extended thoughts and prayers to the family and loved ones of the victim and wished a swift recovery to those injured in the incident.

One Pakistani national was among 13 people who lost their lives in the explosion and fire that occurred on Sunday, 21 June 2026, at the Barzan local gas supply facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City. A further 66 individuals sustained injuries, none of which were reported to be life-threatening.
