A dedicated Pakistan Corner showcasing Pakistan-made footballs used in FIFA World Cup tournaments was inaugurated at Building 45 of the Katara Cultural Village Foundation by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Qatar, Muhammad Aamer, and the Director General of Katara Cultural Village Foundation, Prof. Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Al Sulaiti.

Speaking at the inauguration, Prof. Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Al Sulaiti expressed his pleasure at opening the Pakistan Corner in collaboration with the Embassy of Pakistan. He noted that Katara has established similar cultural corners for several countries and was proud to add Pakistan to the initiative.

He highlighted that the display features three footballs manufactured in Pakistan and used in FIFA World Cup tournaments. Referring to Sialkot, he praised the Pakistani city for its global reputation in producing footballs for World Cups, while also recognizing its manufacturing excellence in cricket equipment, other sporting goods, and medical instruments. He described Sialkot as a unique and important industrial city with worldwide recognition.

Prof. Al Sulaiti thanked the Ambassador of Pakistan for his presence at the ceremony and reaffirmed Katara's commitment to promoting cultural and international cooperation.

On the occasion, Ambassador Muhammad Aamer said Pakistan has been associated with FIFA World Cup footballs for several editions and remains part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup through the footballs being used in matches across the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

He noted that Pakistan produces nearly 70 percent of the world's hand-stitched footballs, with Sialkot serving as the country's renowned manufacturing hub. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the State of Qatar and Katara Cultural Village Foundation for providing Pakistan the opportunity to showcase its sporting excellence in one of Katara's distinguished sports galleries.

The inauguration reflects the strong cultural ties between Pakistan and Qatar while highlighting Pakistan's internationally recognized contribution to the global sports manufacturing industry.

The sports exhibition at Building 45, Katara Cultural Village, Doha, will continue until July 19, 2026, the last day of the FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament. The final match is scheduled for 1000 AM Qatar Time at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which seats 82,500 spectators.
