The 11th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Doha marks the bank’s official entry into its "second decade," following a transformative first ten years. Centered on the theme “Tomorrow’s Infrastructure: Impact and Innovation,”the gathering delivers a resounding message: amidst growing geopolitical fragmentation and economic uncertainty, inclusive and green multilateralism is more vital than ever.
Multilateralism remains AIIB’s bedrock, with green growth defining its path forward. Demonstrating its commitment to directing over 50 percent of financing toward climate-related projects, the bank’s impact is evident in benchmark initiatives—from Egypt’s Benban Solar Park to sustainable renewable energy bonds in Türkiye. In the Gulf, AIIB is aligning its green finance priorities with regional economic diversification strategies, such as Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
Looking ahead, global infrastructure requires more than traditional construction; it demands low-carbon, resilient, and technology-enabled networks. Positioned in Doha as a bridge connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa, AIIB continues to act as a financial catalyst, mobilizing international capital to meet local sustainable development needs through genuine multilateral cooperation.
